Artist Call!!! We Need YOU!!!

(e)VENT...a drawing project.

... because you've got something on your mind!

!!57 linear feet of free expression
in response to The Patriot Act and the War on Civil Liberties!!

On Saturday, May 1st, 2004 Noon-10PM an all day drawing (e)VENT
open to public participation
will take place at Gallery 535, 535 Albany St.
in the South End of Boston.

57 continuous feet of gallery wall will be wrapped in paper and loosely gridded with text and interpretations of The Patriot Act. You are invited to add your own drawings to the wall in response to the text and current threats to our civil liberties imposed by this administration or you may choose to simply draw or doodle.

The goal is to "Participate" to "Do Something" and to create a visual record of
thoughts and presence.

(e)VENT is a community project. Artists are encouraged to respond to other's drawings as well as to contribute their own.

The day long celebration will include food and music. Details soon coming!!
(e)VENT is in partnership with the ACLU-Mass. branch. Pamphlets about The Patriot Act and its potential impact will be provided.

The drawing will be on view and open to the public Wed. 5/5-Fri. 5/7 12-4PM.,
ending in a $100 per square foot sale on Saturday, May 8th 2004 6-9PM.
Proceeds will benefit the ACLU- Mass. Branch.

We are looking for artists who are willing to commit to participation in this (e)VENT at some point over the 10 hour period of its creation. (e)VENT is Open to the Public, but it is the strong participation of the Greater Boston artist community that will make this project truly exciting! Participating artists names may be used in publicity for (e)VENT.
